It's icy here also. I'm really considering Yacktracks or screw shoes as I hate my treadmill!

Hope you are feeling better soon.

From missee on Thu, Jan 08, 2009 at 15:22:38

Never heard of Tracktracks. I'll have to research them. I avoid the treadmill like the plague! I'd rather run in very, very cold than run on a treadmill!

I brought an iPod with me today and was slipping on the ice that had reiced after a thaw period.. funny thing the song that came on was "Slip Slidin' Awaaaay" haha.

How is your new year treating you?!

From missee on Fri, Jan 09, 2009 at 18:46:59

That is too funny! Kind of. Maybe you should remove that song from your playlist!! Find a song that talks about staying upright, and not falling, and being warm!!!

Can't complain about the New Year! It's been pretty good so far. Thanks for asking. How's yours?

After my early morning run, sometimes I go back to bed for a blessed amount of time.  Sometimes it is only 20 minutes, sometimes it is an hour.  I love this extra bit of sleep but it is so hard to get back out of bed.  I've decided to call this extra sleep my "nap time".  I know it is going to be years and years before I'll be able to have a traditional nap during the week, so this will have to suffice.

This morning's run was cold.  Running partner is still having problems with her IT band.  We have started to walk a block or so once or twice during our run.  So far, so good.

So tired this a.m.  Need more sleep and need to eat better. LOL  Maybe in the next life!

You are funny with sleep. You know after I run in the cold and come inside the house and warm up I could sleep standing up! I get so tired! Ask your friend when she's getting on here! haha Tell her I said so! lol She doesnt even know me that well so it wont be as hard when she says no. Good run !

From missee on Fri, Jan 16, 2009 at 12:16:56

The highlight of my week is when I can go for an early morning Saturday run and come home and go back to bed w/o getting up until noon!!!!

I'm starting to prefer sleep over food....and that is saying something cuz I LOVE to eat!!!

From Andy on Fri, Jan 16, 2009 at 14:20:35

I do the same on Saturday's and can't believe that I can fall asleep so easily after running.

From walter on Fri, Jan 16, 2009 at 18:46:09

You know that is a good thing for you! We need to figure out how to eat while we are sleeping, that way we can save some time huh?

Andy I know I am victim to that also. Its got to be the cold. I always get sleepy on days that its raining too. My mom must have put me in front of the window on rainy days to make me sleepy because it makes me tired for some reason.

Only ran 3.88 miles, but running partner had NO pain!  Slowly but surely we will work back up to our normal distance -- just in time to run St. George again!

Hey, how are you I think ive seen you out running but wasnt sure. Are you still running? What are your marathons of choice this year?

From missee on Wed, Apr 08, 2009 at 03:02:14 from 207.108.169.215

yeah still running. Did Provo City 1/2 marathon this past weekend. Didn't do as well as I had hoped.

I'm going to try for St. George marathon I think.

How's your running going?

From walter on Wed, Apr 08, 2009 at 23:42:21 from 76.27.15.208

It was less than favorable conditions. I ran up north in Eden with crappy weather. Good luck with the lottery for SGM. Ive signed up for it also. Im doing Ogden marthon too. My times are coming down slowly. I was up there in Daybreak early this morning in your neck of the woods. Keep up the good work.

This was a tough race becaue I haven't trained for a 5k.  I didn't get much sleep.  Ate spaghetti at 2:00 a.m.

Rained the whole race!!  Reminded me of St. George marathon last year.

It was fun having my son with me.  He ran the 2k.  He did great!  7th overall and 1st in his age group.  I might end up w/ a permanent race partner!!  He said that he's not ready to do it again tomorrow, but maybe next week!! ;-)

This was a friendly race.  I love it.  People talked to everyone, whether they knew them or not!  Loved the plaques - they are unique.  Raffle drawing prizes were awesome.  Thanks to the guy that gave me his prize and then traded with me.

I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up for this race.  Provo River trail is meant to be run downhill, not up!!!  I thought I was going to die!

Good run on the way back, though.

Whoever thought a 9:00 a.m. start time is a good idea is wrong!  Too many people on the trail.  All races should start no later than 8:00 a.m.!!!

Good run overall.  Happy w/ my time!

I agree. I love downhills :D. My goal this summer was to see how fast I could go on my bike. Got up to I think 45 or 46 miles an hour.. then realized it would hurt... A LOT if I fell off or popped a tire. HOw have things been?
