This was a 5 mile race. Beautiful course. Some steep hills. Last mile I tried to catch this girl. I thought that if I picked up the pace, little by little, I'd catch her or at least get close, then I could sprint the last little bit.
Well, she sprinted, too!!! But, I beat her by 1 second!!!! It was a tough finish but I'm so proud of me!

I found out my running partner is moving. I'm devastated!!! She is the motivation that I need to get out of bed at 5:30 a.m. most mornings!!! There is another lady we run with occassionally so I won't be left all alone! My running partner is an amazing runner. In the 15 months that we have run together, I can only remember one day where I ran faster than her. She is such an awesome person and runner!!! I'm going to miss her terribly!!! |

Ran the Provo River 10 mile run. It was awesome!!! One of the most beautiful trails I've ever been on!!! My hip started hurting about mile 7 but I was able to run through it after about a mile!
37th out of 282 women. Time - 1:20:34 Mile Pace 8:03
I'm happy with it!!! Can't wait for the 1/2 marathon |

Today was a hard run. Not hard as in a good run, but difficult. It was hard in a run that I didn't want to finish. It was very warm, by my standards, 70 degrees at 5:00 a.m. There is something wrong with that. And it was very windy, a warm wind that didn't help me cool down.

Short run cuz I slept in. Almost missed my running partner. Though that short of a run is hardly worth going on, but I wasn't motivated enough to go further by myself.

This run was very difficult for me. The first half is uphill. I got up really, really late and didn't get out until 9:30 a.m. By 10:00 a.m. it was already 93 degrees. I didn't eat or drink anything before I went out. Not good.
The one good thing about this run is that I did it. Not only did I do it, but I did it by myself. My running partner is out of town. It took a lot to get out and run w/o her there with me. And the heat...........it was a killer!!!

I didn't realize it was going to be so hard to get back to the level I was before the SLC Marathon. Maybe I came back too soon, I don't know. I've been having problems with my hip hurting if I run more than 5 miles.
Today was a pretty good run - short and sweet. Need to pick up the pace a bit.
