This was a tough race. Every year I tell myself I'm just going to run to enjoy the scenery and every year I run as fast as I can. It hurts at the end and I ask myself why I do it.
The weather was great. The start was horrible. Just too many people and I should have started closer to the start. Their clock had me two minutes slower than my Garmin. I posted my Garmin time instead of their time.
Avg mile pace was 8:00 min
333rd of 1767 runners
124th of 1156 women
16th or 193 for my age group.
For my level of training and the my horrible cold I had for the 10 days prior to the race, I'm very pleased w/ my time. I would love to get 1:40 next year.
It did make me question why I signed up for a marathon. I must be insane!!! |

| | This morning was a good run. Still fairly tight from the race this weekend. After running I went to the gym and swam for 20 minutes. Have a triathlon on the 30th. I'm so nervous about the swimming. You know, people actually die while swimming! |

Today was a good run. I think my running partner is almost good as new. She sure kicked my butt this a.m.
Didn't eat well yesterday so I was dragging. Avg mile pace was 9:02 or something like that.
Rode 4 miles on bike when I was done running. Going to try to run everyday and alternate bike and swim to get ready for the triathlon! |

Today is cross-training. Hope to go swimming after work. I have my swim suit, etc w/ me so I can just stop @ any Gold's Gym along my travels today. Whether I will or not is another question. My younger kids are w/ their dad this evening so there should be no reason not to!!! |

The first 10 miles of this run was enjoyable. I won't say anything about the rest. It would have been better, I think, if I had more sleep and better nutrition. My dinner the night before was one small piece of pizza. Nothing to eat the morning of. |

Running partner cancelled and I didn't have the heart to go on my own! I know, complete slacker!
I did play volleyball and rode my bike w/ kids to scouts and grocery store. Total of about 9 miles or so. |
