I was excited for this race.  I had my spiffy neon purple tights and a good night's sleep....what more could I want?

Race started out great!  Felt good going into it, but near the end of the first mile I twisted my ankle on a rock I didn't even see!  It hurt bad.  I could feel it in my toes, but I kept running.  There was a nice guy behind me that asked if I was ok.  I said I was, but I was lying!  It hurt really bad.

The rest of the run was good except in the back of my mind I kept worrying about the ankle.  I think that is one reason I didn't have a kick at the end.

My little runner card said I was 11th overall, but I think that was 11 woman overall.  Don't know for the whole race.

My goal for this race had been sub-23, so missed it by a little.  Better luck for the next 5k, which is Cookie Chaser on April 24!  Wish me luck!

Good job! 2nd in your division with a twisted ankle is impressive.

Being that close to your goal while running 2 of the miles on a bad ankle is great.
