This was supposed to be a 10k, but the course was a little short.  Drove for 8.5 hours the night before, so my pre-race diet was really poor.  It was mainly sunflower seeds, diet pepsi, and Smarties.  The girl I was hoping to be there wasn't so I wasn't able to see if I am faster now! :-(

The only girl that beat me was my younger sister.  She's an awesome runner.  I told her husband that my goal was just to keep her in sight!  He asked me if I had brought my binoculars!!  I needed them.  She beat me by at least 4 minutes!

Course was a bit boring.  Run in a square - twice.

Great race. Maybe I need to try your pre-race diet.

Sounds like you had fun up there! I hate race courses that you have to loop on! I ran a 15k in west jordan the decked in red a few years back that looped around 3 times. It was so boring the third time around I wanted to scream! Diet pepsi and smarties huh? A little far from the traditional spaghetti dont you think?

ALRIGHT!!! SUPER RACE! HAHA I feel the same way when I race my younger brother. He's 16 and kicks the pants off of me even though he seems to never train!

Diet Pepsi and Smarties ... the prerace fuel of champs! woot woot!

Hey question for you. I have been clocking some pretty fast times on hilly courses around my house this week. What's an average speed that I should shoot for to even consider placing in a pack of a 50 mile bike race? Right now I think my best is like 30.4 miles in 1:38

Andy - I think you could probably find a pre-race diet that would be a tad bit more helpful than Smarties and diet Pepsi! I fell off the wagon when I went to Wyoming this past week. Thoroughly enjoyed at least one diet Pepsi a day!!! ;-)

Walter - Had tons of fun in Wyoming! I love going home!

Benn - I've come to accept the fact that my lil' sis will always beat me, and if ANYONE is going to beat me, it better be my sister! LOL

As far as biking goes, I really can't help you w/ that. I've only been biking regularly for about 1 month! I'm a newbie!!! Don't know much myself. Good luck finding someone w/ expertise and experience!
